What is Project DECODE?

We live in a technology-driven era that promises connection and opportunity. Yet behind every screen lies a growing crisis of scams, exploitation, and abuse. The internet has become both a tool for empowerment and a space of danger.

43%
Filipino internet users experienced cyberbullying in 2023 according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)
65.5%
of 120 respondents among higher education DLSJBC students recognized serious online threats

At De La Salle John Bosco College, students face serious threats ranging from financial scams to harassment and identity theft. Many have lost money to gambling apps, been hacked or blackmailed, and received unsolicited explicit contentβ€”causing financial strain, emotional harm, and broken relationships.

The lack of education on cybersafety and digital rights is not only a technological gap but a human rights concern. Without awareness, exploitation and violence will continue unchecked, fueling addiction, cyberbullying, and declining mental health.

Project DECODE Solution

A three-day Cyber Rights Fair that turns awareness into action through expert-led talks, interactive booths, workshops, sports fest, and a cyber caravan. We empower student leaders to cascade their knowledge and inspire responsible, rights-based digital citizenship.

Let us DECODE our rights, reclaim our safety, and shape a digital future that empowers rather than exploits.
